  • Transportation

    • Opposes tolling along I-70 and worked hard to ensure this past session to ensure that bills supporting tolls were defeated
    • Supports the Blue Ribbon Panel's recommendations on transportation
    • Supports line widening and acceleration/deceleration lanes
    • Supports mass transit along the mountain corridor
  • Economy

    • Opposes proposals for tolling along I-70 that would hurt local businesses and our tourism-based economy.
    • Supports the rebewable energy industry to create more green-collar jobs and to promote economic sustainability.
    • Supports bringing safe, good jobs to Colorado.
  • Education

    • Sponsed the Colorado achievement Plan for kids to create a student-centered system aligning goals from preschool through college - worked bipartisian and as a Freshman legislator on this important bill
    • Leads efforts to improve k-12 learning and to reform our public school system
    • School Board Member who has brought excellence to the public school system with programs such as student mentors and the IB program
    • Promotes teaching a depth of knowledge to students
  • Environment

    Legislation Representative Scanlan has passed:

    • Extended efforts to protect our community from pine beetle devastation and wildfires through the Forest Restoration Act of 2008
    • Preserved our rivers and streams for future generations by launching the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund.
