    Legislation Representative Scanlan has passed:

    • HB 1199 known as the "Colorado Healthy Forests and Vibrant Communities Act of 2009," this bill makes several changes regarding the care, protection, and use of Colorado's forests to reduce wildfire risks to our local communities and wild lands. It will provide resources to the Colorado State Forest Service to provide loans and grants for market-based forest treatment solutions. 06/03/2009 Governor Action - Signed
    • SB 001 enables the creation of Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs), for which the state forester must establish guidelines. CWPPs are plans to identify and mitigate fire hazards; the plans are developed with input from state, local, federal government bodies, and other interested parties. Signed by the Governor 3/19/09
    • SB 016 enacts measures to encourage the restoration of forest areas affected by bark beetle infestation. It provides a tax incentive for businesses that remove trees killed by bark beetles when they also assist with forest-restoration on impacted lands.
